Mix and Math 360° Microgrant
The application deadline is March 21st, 2024.
In response to the declining math scores on the 2022 NAEP, the National Council of Teacher Quality released a statement emphasizing what research says about the importance of teachers’ content and pedagogical knowledge and the need for teachers to feel supported in their growth (NCTQ, 2022).
At Mix and Math, we wholeheartedly agree and believe that teachers are “the most powerful in-school factor that drives student learning.” It’s our mission to create learning experiences for teachers that develop their understanding of the math they teach and allow them to feel supported in their professional growth. We accomplish this through our Mix and Math 360° program, which is currently available for 4th and 5th grade teachers, math coaches, and math interventionists.
About the Microgrant
One school will be awarded Mix and Math 360° annual licenses for every 4th and 5th grade teacher, along with any math coaches or math interventionists that work at the school. Each license includes access to:
A library of math concept videos that develop teachers' content knowledge
Supplemental student resources that focus on building conceptual understanding
An online professional learning community and monthly support from Team Mix and Math
The selected school will also receive a 75-minute virtual professional development session with Brittany from Mix and Math.
The approximate value of the Mix and Math 360° Microgrant is $4,500 (based on an average school size with 3 classes per grade level and two instructional supports; the actual value of the award may vary).

(It takes about 10-15 minutes to complete the application.)
What is the Mix and Math 360° program?
The Mix and Math 360° program provides teachers with on-demand professional development through a library of math concept videos. Each video is between 10-15 minutes long and is meant to deepen teachers’ understanding of the math concepts that they teach. The videos show teachers effective teaching strategies that they can use to build students’ understanding of the concepts.

While our primary goal is for teachers to develop the understanding needed to more effectively meet the needs of the students in their classroom using the curriculum provided by the school, we do include supplementary student resources. These student resources focus on developing students’ conceptual understanding through visual and hands-on work.
Additionally, teachers have access to timely support through our online learning community. Teachers can ask questions and receive feedback from the other educators in our program and Team Mix and Math. We also offer live learning sessions every month where teachers can submit questions and get them answered by content specialists.
